Can’t wait to get in there today. It is time to move some weight and really work on the technique of this lift. Get it up and get under it. Wow, that sounds bad, but I like it. See ya this afternoon after some sleep after work tonight.

Great job to Sanders, Shotgun, Amanda, Larry and LV this morning!

We worked on the Burgener Warm-Up with the PVC pipe, then did the same with the bar. Technique is important in this lift so be sure to have a trainer take you through the Warm Up and watch your technique!

Thanks for being patient and working on technique 6amers! Amanda and Shotgun did an amazing job snatching from the hang which is a progression to working up to the full snatch from the ground – really proud of you guys.

    Keep it up!

I think I can snatch about 200lbs today. Too bad I have softball practice :(

  4. Anders says:

    Spigner…solid C&J yesterday

  5. Garris says:

This one will is one of the toughest lifts. We need more snatch. Seriously. It is a complicated lift that we rarely practice and are expected to max out on it every so often. I would like to see some more 5×5 lifts in the gym. But what the hell do I know, Im just a doctor

  6. Karen says:

Having a bad day Garris or did you just want to say “we need more snatch”? I think a large beer is the answer…….

  7. Anders says:

I just stopped by Lalanne Crossfit in downtown SF….this guy tried to sell me his gym at 300 a month with a 500 dollar initiation fee.

Stopping by Kelly Starret and Boz’s place tomorrow to see what they are all about.

    Doing snatches today as well….

  8. Karen says:

Wow, that’s a lot of money Anders. You better join globo gym and just let them think you are crazy.

  9. Garris says:

Once Paul gets everybody hooked he is going to jack up his price to 300. I got 195 today with awful form, but it got up never the less after 4 misses. Missed 200. Not even close afterf all those misses.

  10. Anders says:

    160 – 15 pounds off of PR.

There will be a lot of Snatches and cleans in my life in the very near future

  11. Spigner says:

got to 175 and missed 185 three times. Just couldn’t hold up steady above my head. Anders thanks for the props. Keep up the work. Garris sucks!!

  12. Spigner says:

    20 lb. PR YAY!!!!!

  13. BMo says:

Worked out at Crossfit Myrtle Beach last night. Brand new box, just opened 2 weeks ago. Not a lot of stuff yet, but tons of potential. Owned by Will and Monica who were very friendly. If vacationing down here this summer, be sure to stop by.

Snatches did not go well. Hit 155 easy then jumped to 175 and couldn’t budge it…3 times! That reminded me how much I rely on our on-site coaching. I felt like my form was pitiful. I was also reminded that I probably take what we have in Columiba for granted. I haven’t seen anything else in our state even close to the facility or coaching that we have. I’m proud to call CCF home.

  14. Garris says:

What an inspirational comment BMO. Its funny how quick that weight goes from easy to impossible on the snatch

  15. dawn says:

BMO – you rock! I saw that Sharon V (founder of CFMB) and her husband had decided to hand over the biz to Will and Monica a couple weeks ago when Monica’s pic was on the CF main website – glad to see they’ve gotten their own box too! Everyone has to grow from a starting point!

Congrats to Erin yesterday who snatched from the ground for the first time and was able to power snatch 68lb! working on more aggression and less SQUEAL!

When you see Erin in the next few days or week say congrats to her – today she graduates from AGCCC at Fort Jackson and next weekend is getting married!

Still coaxing my back but managed to get an UGLY 108lb yesterday – still can’t quite get my form down but will take a 15lb PR from doing Isabel with 93lb.

    See everyone on Friday!

  16. Anders says:

BMO I second that. We really do have one of largest, most up to date boxes I have ever been to. I def took it for granted but after being away for a week I have been trying to find a place that matches it and can’t. We really are lucky to have great coaches (honestly having a level 3 coach to work out with is unheard of much less 2 of them) and the facility we have. The box I am in now is seperated in 3 rooms, has 5 bars and no platforms. Kinda hard to snatch with carpet under you. The people are great, the workouts are tough, but we all may want to get out of CCF and see what else is out there to realize how lucky we are with CCF.

  17. Anders says:

Thursday is no rest day at KMSF Crossfit. Angie today 16:44. Bobbie would have a field day with some of the form displayed on this coast. You know it must be shady if I am calling it out. Anyways 16:44. 9 minutes better than my post vegas Angie of 25 and change. I didn’t throw up 3 times in the middle of this one which saved some time. Rest day tomorrow….may do some sprints on these wonderful hills out here.

  18. Garris says:

Its kind of horse shit that these places in other cities charge 15 bucks to work out one day. i might tell them to pound sand.
