This workout, like all of our other workouts, is for time. However, today, doing the Turkish Get Up will force you to slow down and focus on executing the movement properly.
“Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.” Ecclesiastes 7:8

WHEW! another tough one today guys and gals! Ten folks in the 6am class and only three were able to RX…..but that’s ok…..take the time to warm-up with a weight you know you can support for the TGUs……these will be the breaking point today.
As always – take your time, focus on form and get it done – one rep at a time!
Great job this morning…..LV – i hope you feel better!
TGU looks interesting… but 24kg??????
I’m predicting some blunt force head trauma cases.
Ahhhh! I am totally stoked about this exercise as well as completly curious on how well I will do on the TGU’s. I really want someone to TGU a person! I would love to witness that. I will even volunteer to be the “Human Kettle Ball!”
Derek, Just wear your helmet!!!
I’m not sure I could lie down and stand up 10 times period. Who’s creating these exercises? Next you’ll be having us flip a tire or lifting a keg a beer.
Yes, i’m looking forward to tackling this one this afternoon. The weight is definately heavy and i’ve seen alot of struggles so far but i’m stoked to get it done RX.
Graham might be a great candidate for a “human kettle bell” – she’s about the size of my pinky!
what time are you stopping in today Santana – hear you’ve got your pull ups now!…
I was the “human kettle bell” once for the Turkish getups!!!!! I have it on video…I will try to post it. I would MUCH rather be the kettle bell than do the turkish getups
I’m coming in at 3:30. I have the pullups (kind of), but may have to result to modified jumping pullups after butchering my arms. I still need to work on doing more than 5 in a row. I seem to loose the groove.
Graham, I would love to see that! You would be a good Kettle Bell! Maybe someone will take on the challenge and use Paul B!
Graham – i wan tto see proof!
Santana – try and get all those Pull ups RX!….even if you have to single them out! i know you can do it – YOU TOO GRAHAM!
How long does it take to get the pull ups??
I don’t remember my time but somewhere around 30 minutes rx’d…
hope everyone is ready to have extremely sore abs tomorrow
Folks Don’t worry I have two helmets that you can use!! Oh I finished in 25:20 RX!
Heres to light Metcon! Ha Ha
LV-
Don’t worry about missing today. Your multiple rounds of Turkish Throw Ups probably worked the core and made you sweat just as bad.
I’m preparing for some different kinds of soreness tomorrow.
37:00 rx’d. My first round of TGU’s was by far my slowest. Ain’t gonna lie…after messing around with the weight before the workout, I didn’t think I was going to be able to get through the WOD rx. Once the body gets acclimated it gets better.
Good WOD! Looking forward to shaving multiple minutes off next time.
Aaron or Anders – did you switch arms each rep or do 5 on the left, 5 on the right?
Combo of 2′s and 3′s for me. Aaron is right though, when you get going your body starts to “click” and all the right muscled get going together. The form starts to get a lot better and makes a word of difference with the weight….now just try breathing through the whole thing and you should do pretty well
awesome
I did 5 on right and 5 on left.
Holy Smokes! I dont like Turkish and I dont like Getups! Had to do this one at Ft. Jackson this morning so I missed the 6 am crowd…sorry guys.
19:00 used a dumbell (50lb) b/c no kettlebells were available. Pukie visited on round 2! Just a little spittle, but it went all over the floor! NICE!
See the 6 a.m. ers on Friday morning.
Peace,
Anthony
Oh yeah, did round 1 with 5 left TGUs and 5 right TGUs, rounds 2-5 I switched back and forth (1L, 1R) and got in a rythmn.
anthony
